Lights, Camera, ACTION! - BBC

The next weekend after our audition for Channel 4 was for the BBC Sports Relief charity that they do every year. It seemed to be exactly the same as the channel 4 Superstar Dogs, but the audition was not so good. We had to go to a local pet shop that had a room to hire. It was large enough but nothing like the size of Soneleigh, it had 1 jump and an A frame.

I was the first on the list and as soon as i walked in I had to introduce me and Beau to camera. Then came a find it exercise. We had been practicing this, but I don’t think to the degree they wanted. I had to hide her toy and they placed a cloth over it. Beau had never done this before. To my surprise she did it. She found it, moved and held the cloth then picked up her toy and brought it to me. Wooo, I was soooo happy that she thought to put the find it trick, with the hold it trick. We then had the A frame. But after me telling the producer that she fell of last week, we gave it a try and decided to miss it. Then came the 1 jump. All of this was being filmed.

lastly came the interview. I always let my self down her but this was down to the producer this time. They asked for Beau to sit on me, which she has never done, she is not that sort of dog. Then they said for her to sit on a chair, the chair was a swivel chair, which is climbed and sat on, then moved, tipping the chair over. The producer asked for me to try again and Beau refused. she then asked for Beau to sit by me. Beau doesn’t do this either and has to sit as far away from me as the lead would let her, so the producer had to move the camera. All the questions were the same as the Channel 4 show and I guess I wasn’t strange or funny enough for them.

Never mind, it was an experience I may not do again.
